Tokyo Cafe, SM Megamall, Philippines

We were in this restaurant called Tokyo Cafe in SM Megamall for lunch. Its a weird Japanese place its "japanese" themed but the food they served is all american style hamburgers, pizzas, milkshakes and pastas. Their desserts are awesome taste wise and "look wise" :)) haha

Please Support Urban Sketchers.org

SEE THE WORLD ONE DRAWING AT A TIME
The group was created in November of 2007 by Gabi Campanario and set the foundation for the Urban Sketchers blog (Nov. 2008) and a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering the art of on-location drawing (Dec. 2009.)

Urban Sketchers Manifesto

• We draw on location, indoors or out, capturing what we see from direct observation.
• Our drawings tell the story of our surroundings, the places we live and where we travel.
• Our drawings are a record of time and place.
• We are truthful to the scenes we witness.
• We use any kind of media and cherish our individual styles.
• We support each other and draw together.
• We share our drawings online.
• We show the world, one drawing at a time.

This is a sketch I did while stuck in traffic on C5 road. This is the road I have to pass all the time to get to my new condo :) I absolutely despise this road since its always filled with traffic whenever we're there! hehe but thats because its where the toll booth is at. :) Didn't sketch the road though I was admiring the palm trees as well as the old rundown buildings in the area.

Stone Age Dream, Peter Chan's blog giveaway prize, and utter randomness

Yesterday I had a dream that I was back in the stone ages and I was sailing on a hot air balloon with my dog. Here is a photo of my dog. Her name is Sharpay. hehe (Sharpay the Sharpei)

Anyway I couldn't stop getting the idea of me in the stone age so I decided to paint it. This is just the early stage of the painting I'm still trying to figure out the background. If you have suggestions just comment

Oh, and I'd like to share with you all my working area. Now that I'm working more on traditional mediums I had to move my equipment. :))

Swatches I  used for reference in the painting

My washes :)

Oh, I was one of the random winners on the awesome Peter Chan's blog giveaway! :) So guess what came in the mail the other day! The linoprint finally arrived! :) Thanks Peter!

Moving Moving Moving...

So I've haven't been active lately because I've been really busy unpacking since we just moved into a new place. It was a real mess moving out of a house that you've spent 14 years of your life in but yeah, we MOVED.
And the mess was MESSY!!!

Anyway lately I've been thinking about doing a pin-up drawing since I've been watching a lot of Miami Ink and I must say I love Kat Von D's work she is amazing!

Anyway, here is my feeble attempt on doing a 'pin-up drawing' :)

the love for water soluble pastels

This is an oil piece I've been working on. It was on regular acid free paper. The oils didn't react to well though  so I'm thinking of transferring the piece to canvas.

The following pieces were made just out of practicing my color composition, how I choose colors using a limited palette. I used Caran de'Ache water soluble pastels which I love I don't know if they make them anymore though.
