What I've been up to

Hello friends! :)

I haven't blogged in a while cuz I've been sort of busy trying to figure things out here and getting a few commissions done. :) I was sort of disappointed though someone, I won't name (respect), ordered a painting from me I was almost done with it took me 3+ hours to make and they emailed me and cancelled it. I was uberly  disappointed. Oh well. I will finish it and post it up soon. :)

Got nothing new to show your now so I'll post a few Tshirt and sticker designs I did a while back.

Right now I'd like to tell you guys about a few artists I admire. :)

New Styles

This is my workspace for traditional works. :) I need a new desk though ahaha maybe when I get some money in. :) So, I've been trying out different types of styles.. just trying to find 'the one' for me. I'll upload the sketches sometime when I get the energy to scan my notebook. Yeah, I'm that lazy. :P

5am in the morning..

   

So decided to stay up til 5 am to watch the Chiustream and while waiting I decided to finish off my "creatures of the deep sea" painting. :) 

You can see the block in phase of this painting on my previous post. :) and not because I was so obsessed with sea creatures my Chiustream entry became something about creatures as well.. granted I'm not good at fast painting.. :))  I have decided to share it with you guys haha!

Elections Tomorrow!

I decided to make this process video since a few people were asking me how I go through making final pieces so yeah this is the first of 3 videos I'm working on for this piece called "Night's Sky"
This is what I call just the thumbnail phase of getting the work done. Basically just making really basic sketches not working on detail at all and maybe adding some values into the piece as well. :)

Oh, I will be starting an hour of live streaming on http://ustream.tv/carrierodriguez/ hopefully I can work that in everyday @ 4pm (GMT+8) Basically during the live streaming I will be showing you how I go about working on pieces, drawing studies and other things as well related to art. So hope you guys tune in to that from time to time. :)

I participated in the LIVE TAD free workshop last saturday and it was a blast! It was absolutely wonderful getting together with artists and hearing what people had to say about getting into the business, how they work, what inspires them, and a lot more.
